   Restaurant "Gorgasali"
   Address: 3/8 Abano Str, Tbilisi
   Tel: 75 59 59

This is the very restaurant visited by George W. Bush in 2005. The president was deeply fascinated by cordial welcome, Georgian cuisine and the restaurant itself - diverse and original, distinguished with creative blend of Georgian and Asian styles.

GORGASALI is constructed on the territory where many, many centuries ago hot sulfur water ran out of the earth and the king Vakhtang Gorgasali made a decision to build a town at the spot. The restaurant has been operated for already 20 years and continuously attracts foreigners, no matter they are tourists or on a business trip.

The restaurant is built in bricks, with cupola-shaped roofing. There are three visitor halls, several booths and extraordinary Georgian and European dishes served.

Upon entering the restaurant your eyes will be caught by the photos of those famous visitors treated at the Gorgasali in 2005. They are two presidents, Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia and George Bush of the USA.

The right door leads to the hall for 60 visitors. There is a unique stove "Madam Pompadour" located in the hall, now as a museum exhibit, dated back to the last century. There are many age-old things placed in the hall, which may bring the memories of days gone by flashing back.

The other hall differs from the first one. It is furbished with antique carpets, wooden tables and a fireplace. Some unique subjects are to be seen here as well - the first typing machine of "Mercedes", coach lantern and many more. This hall is frequently used for business lunches and official gathering.

The third hall is the largest one; the one where George Bush was treated to dinner. And here we see no lack of bygone spirit, made alive by those old things, which still bring back the memories of past and witness how rich Georgia was in its customs and traditions.

In the evenings, from 9:00 to 12:00, Trio "Gorgasali" will be performing beautiful Georgian songs, and if you decide to spend an evening in this extraordinary atmosphere, you will not be able for a long time to forget the visit.

Open everyday from 12:00 until the last visitor leaves.
